Answers Still Matter | Megan Mulquiney
Megan Louise Mulquiney was 17 years old when she disappeared on 28 July 1984.
Megan had spent the morning working at Big W in Woden Plaza, commencing her shift at 8:30am. She finished work at 12:05pm and was last seen around 12:15pm standing outside the western entrance of Woden Plaza, near the Big W store and western car park.
Megan was due to catch a bus home, but she never arrived.
Despite extensive police investigations over the years, Megan’s disappearance remains one of the ACT’s long-term missing persons cases.
As part of National Missing Persons Week, ACT Policing is sharing Megan’s story through a portrait painted by local artist Harriet Mitchell. The portrait, along with two other ACT long-term missing teenagers, is displayed at the Tuggeranong Arts Centre to help keep their stories visible in the community and remind people that, no matter how much time has passed, answers still matter.
